Noted florist and decorative arts and antiques dealer Larry Becker presents a collection of Wire Architectural Armatures, exclusively available at KRB.
Becker first began making wire constructions over 30 years ago, creating lightweight, phantom objects that allow a sort of "x-ray" vision of geometry, and an illusion and fantasy of place. Made by hand, and intentionally unmarked, the artist hopes they will become the mysterious work of an unknown maker and origin, in time.
Becker studied drawing and glass making at Rhode Island School of Design and worked in London with renowned florists Pulbrook and Gould, Ltd., before opening his shop, L. Becker Flowers, a legendary Upper East Side destination for 33 years. In 2020, Becker closed his NYC studio and opened Welbourne Robinson, an antiques and decorative arts shop in Hopewell, New Jersey with architect Roger Crowley.
