Christian Brechneff
Christian Peltenburg-Brechneff creates intimate relationships to nature through his large-scale pieces that immerse the viewer in a jungle of flowers, plants, and color.
Born in the former Belgian Congo (now the DRC), Peltenburg-Brechneff trained in the United States, Switzerland, and England and earned a Master of Art degree from the Royal College of Art in London. He has also won numerous awards, including the Swiss Federal Government Scholarship.
Peltenburg-Brechneff has exhibited throughout Europe, Sri Lanka, the United States, and his paintings appear in public and private collections worldwide. His work can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Greece, the Orange Country Museum in Newport Beach, California, and the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut.
